What is the game about?
Diablo Immortal will tell stories set between the events of Diablo II: Lord of Destruction and Diablo III, which take place in the year 1270, although many of the game’s plot points have their origins in the Eternal Conflict. The catalyst for the plot is the destruction of the Worldstone. Though destroyed, its shards carried with them the corruption of Baal, wreaking havoc on Sanctuary. The main antagonist of the game is Skarn, Herald of Diablo, who seeks to gather the Worldstone shards in order to resurrect his master and rekindle the Eternal Conflict. Simultaneously, a fledgling coven has arisen, its cultists roaming the land, spreading corruption wherever they tread.
The plot of the game will include what happened to humanity after Tyrael destroyed the Worldstone, how Tyrael was able to reform in Heaven, Deckard Cain’s activities, why Malthael left Heaven, how the Demon Hunters were founded , what It was like the golden age of Westmarch and the schemes of Adria and Maghda . The player character is a hero who allies himself with the remnants of the Horadrim, with the goal of preventing the enemies of Sanctuary from reclaiming and controlling Worldstone.
It has been indicated that the game’s narrative may extend beyond the 1270 time period; When asked if vignette-style stories will be featured, the developers replied that «twenty years [the gap between Diablo II and III is a long time.» Similarly, the game can explore key events in the series’ history (Destruction’s End being one example). However, the game will not extend into the time period of Diablo III or IV.

What platform to play on? Desktop or mobile?
This obviously depends on the devices available to you. Diablo Immortal is available for PC, Android and iOS, with shared servers. This means that if you use the same Battle.net account on all of your devices, you can resume your progress without issue.
If you are looking for performance and gaming comfort, your best option is definitely to play on PC with a controller. As Diablo Immortal was primarily developed for mobile, it is not very demanding.
Which server to choose?
There are dozens of game servers for Diablo Immortal, they are divided by geographical areas and languages. It is better to choose a server dedicated to your geographical area as a priority, if you want to avoid latency. There are 6 servers for Metropolitan France (Skarn, Dravec, Charsiu, Leoric, Ammuit and Esu). If you plan to play with friends or family, it is important to choose the same game server as characters cannot be transferred at this time. This means that you would potentially have to start from scratch and lose the time or even the money you have invested in your character, if you change servers.
What class to choose?
This is a broad question that is difficult to answer. All classes are viable and have their place in all game modes. There are also no roles like tank or healer . There are, however, more or less robust classes, ranged or melee, with or without group contributions, etc. Play what you want to play. But if you plan on playing with family members, try choosing different classes to benefit from these different cumulative bonuses. To summarize very briefly the characteristics of the classes:
- Crusader – A pseudo-tank with a large shield. It’s tough, has a lot of AoE and mobility, and good group drops. This makes him a good choice overall, but his single target DPS is comparatively low.
- Barbarian : A large melee brute, very robust, with a lot of AoE as well and group contributions. He is also great at PvP and is generally considered to be one of the best classes since the beta.
- Monk : Specialist in martial arts, it is very mobile, with controls and group contributions, it is a fairly balanced class that only sins in its DPS on a single target as well as its quite intense gameplay which is not necessarily going to be suitable for all players, especially on mobile devices.
- Demon Hunter : The best single target DPS in the game with his crossbows and projectiles, he also has a good AoE, allowing him to decimate enemies from a distance. Since it does not have a group input, it is generally considered a very good option for solo players. He also suffers from a great lack of mobility and great frailty.
- Sorcerer – This spell caster can create devastating combos of abilities, making it very satisfying, but also more difficult to play. You have to aim well with your skills and have the right moment. He’s pretty vulnerable when his abilities recharge, and playing him in PvP is tough.
- Necromancer – The pet class, summon your personal army to tank and deal damage. Combine that with lots of party boosts and control effects, and it makes for a very powerful character to start with. However, he suffers from a severe lack of mobility and his reliance on corpses.
Loot and Equipment
- Remember to activate the automatic collection of all kinds of objects in the game settings, you will gain in comfort.
- Remember to pick up the blue experience orbs on the ground, they help a lot to level up.
- When your backpack at the top right of the screen flashes, you’ve picked up a better item than the one you already have, just equip the items with a green arrow in your inventory. Optimization will reach a higher level.
- Equip your mobility skill to level 8 (or 15, depending on the class) , then keep it permanently to survive or progress faster towards your destination.
- Killing fleeing treasure goblins and visiting random lairs is very profitable.
- Keep an eye on the map, elites, chests, bosses and events are marked on it.
- Activate waypoints and use your portal to get back and forth faster, no need to walk back to town.
- Equipment upgrade will be introduced soon, it is reserved for rare and legendary items. Feel free to max out all of your items, then drop gems inside when you have them. The reason is that when you trade your item, you will automatically have the option to transfer all upgrades and gems for free. Nothing is lost , so do not deprive yourself of it, it will make you gain a lot of power.
- Upon reaching Westmarch, you will have the Ancestral Rifts tutorial and the rare and legendary emblems. Your first miss will grant you a Legendary Gem. Feel free to use your other emblems right away, the more gems and legendary gems you have, the faster you progress. It is useless to wait to be at a higher level.
- If you find legendary items, don’t recycle them. You can draw its power from a special merchant in town, who will transfer it to other items later on. Recycle only duplicate legendary items, for which you have already mined the power.
Story and battle pass
- You can play however you want, but if your goal is to progress as fast as possible, it’s best to progress as fast as possible through the main story. Unlocking many features is tied to the thing as well as its level . Just select the target on the left of the screen and then follow the golden footsteps on the ground.
- Another important item is the Battle Pass. Together with the Codex, it will track your progress and reward you for achieving different goals. Open the menus marked with a red gem to collect your rewards, which often include gold and experience, which will make you progress faster. If you want to optimize your leveling speed, wait as late as possible to do so, the experience offered depends on your current level.
- Optional Battle Pass objectives often appear in green on the left side of the screen, below the current story objective. It’s almost always optimal to check for validation right away, so keep an eye on it. The game will notify you if it is validated as you progress further in the story.
- The Battle Pass will eventually give you the option to choose between different legendary items, choose well according to the build you plan to play.
Daily activities, bestiary and rewards
- The way it’s called Diablo Immortal makes it better to unlock the various features as quickly as possible, whether it’s dungeons, bounties, rifts, the bestiary, the infernal locket, or the cycle of conflict with the different factions. It’s best to jump in a bit right away to unlock the initial rewards and get started, even if you’re not particularly interested at first.
- So you have to try to connect every day, if only to kill a single monster . This will unlock a nice daily reward with increasing quality. If you have more time, there are other daily rewards to unlock, like a free pack, just for playing.
- You can then complete different types of activities, events, and the like around the world, such as rewards, etc. It is better to play a little every day, than to play intensely one day and not log in several days in a row, as there are daily limits for certain activities.
Microtransactions
You can play Diablo Immortal without paying anything , it is not a disadvantage and it does not affect your enjoyment of the game. You absolutely do not need it to reach and exceed the high-level content . But if you are going to spend a little money on it, here are some recommendations of the most profitable items:
- Paying upgraded battle pass is by far the best investment, it will double the rewards earned, however you need to play regularly to get the most out of it. This includes gold, experience, gems, and legendary items.
- Unique packs are unlocked at different points in the game, such as completing the tutorial or completing a dungeon. The value of their content is always much higher than other types of purchase, and they are only available once each. It is a good way to help yourself without spending a lot of money.
