What’s the game about
Steelrising is a new Action RPG developed by Spiders and published by Nacon. Steelrising is set in an alternate history version of revolutionary France. The player takes on the role of Aegis, a female automaton and bodyguard to Queen Marie Antoinette. The queen wants Aegis to find her creator to put an end to the massacres carried out by the robot army of the tyrannical King Louis XVI. Aegis has weapons built into her body, ranging from the ones she carries on her arm for light combat to alchemical rifles and heavier weapons.
The game involves exploration of the environment, with an emphasis on vertical movement. Items can be discovered and used to upgrade Aegis, either to increase its power, agility, or durability. Both familiar and new monuments can be seen as Aegis makes its way through Paris, such as the Grand Chatelet and the Tour du Temple.
Steelrising combines your Aegis strength and speed with your ability to battle robot armies and change the course of history. With Paris burning and bleeding in the midst of the Revolution as a backdrop, you are Aegis, a true automaton masterpiece created by Vaucanson, an engineer in the service of the Clockwork King. Make the most of your mechanical prowess to adapt Aegis to your playstyle and turn her into a fearsome warrior, a deadly dancer, or a virtuoso of the elemental arts.
The game features dynamic and challenging gameplay, waging ruthless and intense combat against technological marvels as complex as they are relentless. You’ll have to test your nerves and skills to the limit at every moment spent battling relentless enemies and epic bosses.
Paris is your battlefield, the City of Light has fallen into darkness and needs you. Use your energy, flexibility, and tools to navigate streets, rooftops, neighborhoods, and castles and uncover hidden secrets.
The game also features a riveting historically inspired storyline, fully experiencing a riveting alternate history story teeming with formidable mechanical enemies and would-be allies with questionable motivations.
