What is the game about
High on Life is a First-Person Shooter Metroidvania, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Biopunk, Action-Adventure game created by Justin Roiland and developed and published by Squanch Games. It takes place in a sci-fi world and features talking weapons. The game includes the voices of Roiland, J.B. Smoove, Tim Robinson, Tom Kenny, Thomas Middleditch, Jack Black, Zach Hadel, and Michael Cusack. It was released on December 12, 2022 for Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, in addition to a day-one release on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service.
Taking place in the future, humans have been captured by a malicious alien cartel known as the G3 Cartel led by Garmantuous to be used for drugs. Playing the role of a bounty hunter, the player must navigate the galaxy to save humanity using weapons called Gatlians, which are used to eliminate threats.
High on Life is an action-adventure metroidvania first-person shooter video game. The player has access to four different pistols and a knife, and can purchase additional movement abilities such as running and sliding forward from the in-game store. The weapons in the game are smart. Roiland voiced the gun Kenny; JB Smoove voiced shotgun Gus; Betsy Sodaro plays Sweezy; Tim Robinson plays the Creature. It has also been confirmed that the game is exclusively for one player.
