Complete Mortal Shell II Trophy Guide: How to Unlock the No Lifer Platinum

Everything you need to know about the 53 real trophies, from the easiest progression awards to the most demanding challenges, with a clear path to platinum.

Introduction to Mortal Shell II Trophies

Mortal Shell II, the standalone sequel developed by Cold Symmetry and published by Playstack, launched on August 20, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The PlayStation trophy list contains 53 trophies: 1 Platinum, 1 Gold, 10 Silver and 41 Bronze. There are no online requirements and no difficulty-specific trophies. Estimated time for the platinum is 40–60 hours and usually requires at least two full playthroughs plus part of New Game++ to gather enough Glimpses for every Shell Memory.

Most trophies unlock naturally while exploring, claiming Shells, weapons and sidearms, cleansing Beacons and defeating bosses. However, three trophies are considered missable or timing-critical, and several collectibles demand a thorough map sweep. This guide uses only the official trophy names and descriptions.

“The No Lifer Platinum is awarded automatically once every other trophy has been unlocked. No shortcuts or official glitches are required.”

Detailed Explanations of Every Trophy

Story and Ending Trophies

You’re More Than a Weapon – Unlocks when you claim your first Shell, first weapon and first sidearm. Happens naturally at the start of the game when you possess the first fallen warrior and equip the basic gear available in the opening area.

Mid Summer? – Enter the Festival during the opening section. This trophy is missable if you leave the area too early without exploring the Festival grounds. Make sure to enter the enclosure before progressing toward Marrowkeep.

Home at Last – Reach Marrowkeep, the central hub of the game. Unlocks the first time you cross the main gate of the bone fortress.

Haunting Times – Watch the first memory of any Shell. Spend Glimpses at the Shellkeeper after claiming at least one Shell.

This is Not an Achievement – Complete the main story by defeating Zmey, the Unbidden, then use the Gloom Siphon in Marrowkeep to finish the playthrough and trigger New Game+.

No Lifer – Platinum. Awarded automatically once every other trophy has been unlocked. No additional action is required.

Weapon Unlocks

Each primary weapon grants its own Bronze trophy. Collecting them all unlocks Lord of War. The weapons are Axe and Dagger (Deep Cuts), Great Martyr’s Blade (Big Boi), Black Needle (Just the Tip), Clockwork Scythe (Like Clockwork), Obsidian Hammer (Stop – Hammer Time), Axatana (Dual Wielding), Veteran’s Battle Axe (Cut You Down to Size), Caged Hystrix (Spiked) and Salvaged Trebuchaxe (Chop Chop). Explore dungeons, defeat optional bosses and thoroughly search every zone. Many are found in sanctuaries, martyr prisons, obsidian mines or islands between portals.

Sidearm Unlocks

Sidearms grant individual trophies: Triarch Repeater (Old Painless), Cursed Child (Beautiful Baby), Ballistazooka (Speared) and Forgotten Crossbow (Old School). The full set unlocks Guns. Lots of Guns. Look for these secondary weapons in elevated areas, hidden chambers and secondary boss rewards.

Shells

There are eight Shells in total. Each has its own unlock trophy: Sester Genessa (Sester), Tiel (Forever Alone?), Lazlo (Down with the Thickness), Eredrim (Vengeance is Mine), Sariel (The Alchemist), Proxima (Arrival), Smert (My Brether) and Gragu (Heartless). Claiming all of them unlocks Shell Seeker. Raising any Shell to maximum bonding tier at the Shellkeeper unlocks Decked Out. It is recommended to max Sester Genessa in the first playthrough because some bonding progress does not carry over easily.

Bosses

Defeating each major boss awards its corresponding secret trophy: Magdalena, the Lady of the Woods (Ultimate Karen); The Lost Child (Meat’s Back on the Menu, Boys!); The Nameless Captive (Headcase); Sir Isaac, the Scholar-Prince (Nightmare Fuel); Hexapod (Something in the deep…); The Monolith (Praise him!); Droeg, the Conquerer (It burnssssssssss); Malborn Offspring (Giga Chad); Orrem, the Reclaimed (Lost Your Head); and Zmey, the Unbidden (It’s over now?). Most are required for story progression and therefore unlock naturally.

Collectibles and Special Challenges

Bring My Ova Back to Me – Collect every Ova scattered throughout the world. These are eggs of the Undermether found in dungeons, cliffs and secret chambers.

Stoned – Find all Tarstones. These upgrade items are located in hidden areas and require thorough exploration.

Sat Nav – Locate every Map Fragment. Once collected they reveal the full interconnected world map.

So Fresh, So Clean – Cleanse all Beacons. There are more than 40 Beacons across the map; each one cleansed enables fast travel and contributes to the trophy.

Heavy Metal – Play every lute track available in the game. Interact with all lutes you find in the different biomes.

Seeking the Past – Watch every Shell Memory. Requires enough Glimpses, so it is normally completed in New Game+ or New Game++. A single playthrough does not provide enough Glimpses.

Over 9000 – Max out a single weapon at the Tarforge. Accumulate upgrade materials and raise one weapon to the highest possible level.

Peter’s Perfect Parry – Perfect Guard every headspin of The Nameless Captive using the Untarnished Seal. Requires precise timing and is missable if you defeat the boss without meeting the condition. Practice the head-spin rhythm before the final fight.

No, You Still Can’t Win – Take the Tar Golem to its minimum health during the opening section. Another missable trophy that must be completed before leaving the starting area.

Feed Me – Cause Egon to pass away through the correct interaction. Speak with him and choose the dialogue options that lead to his death.

Ascension – Discover the secret of the Mango. This is a hidden interaction that does not appear during normal play; locate the special object and perform the correct sequence.

Bag Holder – Sit twice with Baghead’s group and agree to stay with them to obtain this humorous trophy. It is a minor alternate ending and completely optional.

Suggested Route for the Platinum Trophy

  1. Opening section (missables): Make sure to enter the Festival (Mid Summer?) and take the Tar Golem to minimum health (No, You Still Can’t Win) before leaving the starting area.
  2. Full first playthrough: Explore thoroughly. Claim all eight Shells, every weapon and sidearm, cleanse every Beacon, collect all Ova, Tarstones and Map Fragments. Defeat every boss. Max at least one Shell and one weapon. Complete the special challenges (Peter’s Perfect Parry, Feed Me, Ascension, Bag Holder, Heavy Metal).
  3. Before New Game+: Verify that the Temple of Vatra Tarstone and maximum bonding on Sester Genessa are done, as some elements do not recover easily afterward.
  4. New Game+ and ++: Use these runs mainly to accumulate Glimpses and view every Shell Memory (Seeking the Past).
  5. Final cleanup: Once the last remaining trophy unlocks, No Lifer appears automatically.

Tip: The game allows free roam after the story until you choose to enter New Game+. Use that window for any remaining collectibles.

Frequently Asked Questions (QA)

How many hours are roughly needed?
Between 40 and 60 hours for a full platinum, depending on familiarity with the genre and exploration efficiency.

Are there difficulty trophies?
No. There are no trophies tied to specific difficulty modes.

Can everything be obtained in a single playthrough?
No. Seeking the Past requires more Glimpses than are available in one run, so New Game+ is necessary.

Which trophies are the hardest?
Peter’s Perfect Parry for the timing, Stoned and Seeking the Past for the volume of collectibles and the need for multiple playthroughs.

Is the platinum permanently missable?
Only if you miss the opening-section missables or defeat The Nameless Captive without the Perfect Parry. Everything else can be completed in free roam or NG+.

In Summary

Mortal Shell II offers a solid trophy list focused on exploration, collectibles and combat mastery. With proper planning for the opening missables, a thorough collectible sweep in the first playthrough and the use of New Game+ for Shell Memories, the No Lifer Platinum is fully achievable. Always prioritise the strict-timing trophies and do not forget to max at least one Shell and one weapon. Enjoy the journey through this dark, heavy-metal world!
